"Favorite Things"

This Christmas I went to a "Favorite Things" party and discovered so many new "favorites".  The party inspired me to share some of my current home decor favorites.  They are in no particular order, just my favorite furnishing's right now!  Enjoy!

LOVE this sunburst mirror in gold!  I just ordered this mirror for a clients bedroom and I cannot wait to post photos.  This piece works great at modernizing a traditional space

I am a huge fan of Shumacher fabrics.  I love the bright colors and prints!

This is a new introduction from Global Views.   I love the peacock print and the pairing of turquoise with gold.

I love this new wing back occasional chair.  I am a sucker for anything black and white!

I love this area rug!  I love the print as well as the bright orange.  Paired with the Schumacher prints above would make a great combo!

Hands down my favorite dining table right now!  I am ordering this for my home!

This classic Jamie Young lamp has been a tried and true favorite for years!  The Mother-of Pearl detail with the soft linen shade is a show stopper and truly a work of art!

Can't wait to share pictures of a home I just designed including this chair!  I love this piece!

Love this wallpaper!  Schumacher + color of the year= perfection!

I love adding industrial accents.  I love these steel barstools!

This photo does not do this trunk justice!  This tunk has a metallic silver finish and black leather accents.  This is the perfect cocktail table for all different styles.

This is another item from a home I just installed.  These black dining chairs are amazing!  Pictures of the Dining Room to come!

******Email me if there is anything you see here that you would like to order*****

Color of year 2011

2011 is going to be a very colorful year in the world of fashion and home furnishings. The color of the year selected by Pantone (the world renowned authority on color) is Honeysuckle. This reddish-pink hue will definitely energize your interiors and lift your spirits! Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone color institute says "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going-perfect to ward off the blues." I could not agree more! The only challenge is convincing the husbands into introducing this hue into your home. Just adding a few honeysuckle accent pieces to your decor will add a bold splash of color. Perfect for spring!!!

I found this accent pillow from ABC Carpet and Home. I love the Honeysuckle paired with a goldish yellow.

Anthropology dish towel....I love the splash of honeysuckle

Thomas Paul makes the best line of accent pillows. I love the way their pillows are modern yet can also transition into a traditional home. I love this bird print with the honeysuckle and lavender combo.

I love the honeysuckle pillow mixed with gray and white.

I think I just like the way honeysuckle sounds!

Silhouette Style

The first time I really fell in love with silhouettes was when I was touring a Model Home and the color scheme was classic black and white with yellow accents. The designer used a large wall to showcase family portraits using silhouettes. It was love at first sight! I love the idea of turning family photos into art.....classic, simple and beautiful. The contrast of the black and white is what I love the most and the fact that they transition from modern to traditional. Here are some photos of silhouettes of my kids that I just had made (please excuse the poor photography...the images are black and white not yellowish) and cannot wait to get framed. I also found this great do-it-yourself video on how to make silhouettes yourself. LOVE it.

Ho-Ho-Horray

Christmas is hands down my favorite time of year. I start getting the holiday decor out right after halloween and take it down on New Years. I love the lights, the glitter and all things shiny. When it comes to holiday decor I like to keep it clean, sparkly and monochromatic with a splash of bright color here and there. Here are some holiday tid-bits that I absolutely love and inspire my holiday design. Merry Christmas!
