MOOD BOARD INSPIRATION

I stumbled upon this mood board from Tori Spelling's Living Room and had to share.  I love the mix of bright colors, textures, styles and pretty much everything about it.  She was inspired by the fabric she found for the draperies and designed the room from there.

What stands out to you the most in this room?
For me its the GORgeous tall yellow lamps! They really pull the yellow out of that fabric.

ROOM FOR TWO

My client wanted me to design a room for her two daughters (ages 4 & 9) that share a bedroom.  She was struggling with their age difference and the desire to create a room that was age appropriate yet would last for years to come.  Also, the room is a difficult shape to work with and trying to find a way to fit two beds was a challenge.
I tried to be budget conscience so we splurged on the custom headboard and pillows but everything else is from Target and Homegoods.

The color scheme is silver sage, pink, orange and mustard.

Since the headboard is a big investment we chose a neutral color so she could change the color scheme one day when they move into seperate bedrooms.

We are waiting for this adorable mustard print pillow from Villa Home to add to each bed.
 Scroll Print Golden Pillow Pair
I normally would not have placed a bed in front of a window like this but it actually turned out great and having the two headboards made the room so pulled together.

The orange lamp and side table are from Homegoods.  I broke my own rules and purchased a lamp that was only 26" high.  I figured we could place it on books to add height and add a new white shade....the color and price was just too good.

The coverlet is from Target.  I have said it before but I love all white bedding with colorful pillows.

If I had time to stage these photos I would have added some of these to the nightstands...
:)  Time is hard to come by these days!

If you are interested in ordering any of the fabrics from this post just send me an email.

JUST BECAUSE..

I was out visiting some local showrooms yesterday looking for fabric and various other furnishings for some current projects.  I snapped a couple pictures of some things I love and thought I would share.

I am loving Kelly Green accents.

I love the mix of this delicate metal chair with the heavy hide seat.
Plus, orange and zebra are a perfect match.

Lots of pretty things.

MY DESK RIGHT NOW...

Fabric scheme's ready to go for a new client presentation.
(A blog reader of mine from Northern California relocating to Orange County-I love my blog readers) :)

 peacock blue and apple green

natural linen with soft blue

I will bring in other colors as accents as we move from room to room but I like to start with a color base and build out from there.  Having a starting point is helpful when selecting paints, accent fabrics, tile and so fourth.

I'll let you know what they decide :)
Have a great week!

COMING SOON....

I just booked another photo session with the talented photographer Ashlee Raubach to shoot a project that I just completed!  I am so excited to share pictures of this interior!  This project was completely designed over the internet "E Design" with a lovely couple in Brazil.

This space is full of texture and natural elements surrounded by crisp white walls and contrasting wood work.

I should be posting photos mid September. I also have the before pictures, always fun to see the transformation!

TRADITIONAL HOME: SNEAK PEEK

A sneak peek into another Design in Progress.  As soon as we get the area rugs and window treatments in place I will add more photos!  This is a beautiful traditional home that was in need of some color so we added a blue/white/paprika color scheme.  The bursts of color have made a big impact on the interior! I custom framed the artwork to coordinate with the feel of the home and to bring out the colors in the fabrics (read here).

family room
-i had this artwork tweaked a little to add more of the colors that are in the fabrics.

-the orange geometric is a favorite print on mine (schumacher greek key in color: ruby) and will be used for draperies.  The other two fabrics are for pillows on the sofa.

-added new drapery, sofa pillows and woven wood shades (pictures coming soon)!

stair case

-this is the first wall you see walking into the home.  Adding this artwork really set the tone for the rest of the home.

 living room
-added two sofas, pillows, orchid arrangement and cocktail table.  Waiting for the drapery and area rug.

-also added this custom arrangement in a rustic tray/planter with rocks and various succulents for the kitchen island.

stay tuned....more pictures COMING SOON!
