Room Change

I hope you all had a great weekend!
I wanted to start the week of with sharing a project some of you might remember.  This family needed to change rooms around to make way for their new baby.  I completed their girl's room months ago and now we needed to change it to a boys room and switch the girls to another room.

This is the girls room we needed to change...

My client loved the paint color and didn't want to change it.  So, I did my best to create a man cave with the existing silver sage paint.

This is how it turned out...
The front lumbar pillow that I found at Homegoods is what we used to pull the room together.

The dressers are from IKEA and helped manify (I'm just making words up now) the room.

This rust colored rug is from West Elm and pulled the rust from the Homegoods pillow.  This was an exciting find!

The Quilt and sham are also from West Elm and I made the green geometric and rust back pillows.

I know the boys are happy with their new room...as much as two boys that now have to share a room can be :)

I will share the update and re-located girls room this week!

Have a great week!!

Our Adventure begins...

We made it to Austin!!
Overall, the move was pretty smooth.  My husband drove the moving van and I got to fly with the kids!  I cannot imagine that drive with my kids!!
We have been busy getting cars registered, unpacking and getting settled.  We are so happy we made this move!  We couldn't be happier with our kids school and the beautiful area we live in.  My life is so much more peaceful, I cannot even tell you!
Here are some pictures of our adventure via instagram....
We were giving furniture away last minute as we couldn't fit everything!!  It was all a little chaotic!  We had our cars shipped.  As the truck pulled away with our cars it all became VERY real to me!

The cars arrived free of damage (unlike the last car on this truck)!

We have had so much fun exploring our new city!  This town is filled with fun things to do.

It is so beautiful here!  The natural landscape is breathtaking!

As for the family goldfish....they made the long drive out here but that is where their journey ended.  I changed their water when we got to our new home and they were not fans of Austin water!  I always used tap water before but I guess I shouldn't have!  Oops!

Playroom Design

The great thing about designing playrooms is it doesn't take much to create a fun room for the kids to play in.  A fun paint color, bright rug and some good ol' Ikea furniture and you're good to!

I hope you enjoyed this home tour!  I can't wait to share some photos of what I have been up to lately!

Nursery Design

Nurseries are always fun to work on. What I like about this room is that everything is very soft and soothing but the pop of apple green make it fun!

Sweet little Nixon :)

The last post of this home will feature the colorful playroom.

Sweet Girls

I love working on little girls rooms.
Adding just a few key pieces can make a big difference.

Home Tour-Family Room

I have been anxious to share this home tour with you!
I love this family and had a great experience working with them!  My job blesses my life in many ways.  I think this project helped me see that and be grateful for the career that I have.  I get to know families, which is key since I am designing rooms for the people that live in the space.  I also get to make great friendships.
The experience I had working with this particular family has forever changed me!  I have learned more about faith, commitment, service, unselfish love and the value of having an eternal perspective.  It was an experience that I will hold close to my heart forever.
They are a special family and words cannot express how grateful I am to know them!!  See, there is more to my job than just fluffing pillows :)
Now, on with the tour...
Overall, this home has a mix of the Restoration Hardware style mixed with some more modern tradtional pieces with lots of color.
~Family Room~

I love this metal chest mixed with the bold lamp.

Next post will feature the AMAZING kitchen!!  The before picture is awesome!
