The Kitchen~San Clemente Project

Today, I decided to post my favorite room in the San Clemente home I have been posting about (check here, here and here to see more from this home).

The Kitchen

the story...

Before
As you can see, this kitchen is a beautiful space!  The floors, the white cabinets, the appliances and countertops are all beautiful.  The avocado green checkerboard backsplash (which on its own is not terrible it just didn't work in our overall plan) and pendants were the only aspects we wanted to change.  So, with a couple of minor changes we were able to create a space in line with their personal style and color palette.

Instead of using the nook area for a table and chairs we created this cozy sitting area.  It's the perfect spot for family and friends to hang out.  I also love the color and texture the furniture brings into the kitchen.  There is an area off to the side that worked perfectly for a table and chairs so their everyday dining was not compromised.

I love this arabesque tile.  It works beautifully at creating the "all white kitchen" while adding just a touch of pattern.

Next Monday I will share the Guest Room.

Have a great week!!!

I love this kitchen - simple and elegant. And I also love the trend toward repurposing the extra eat-in kitchen area with a sitting room. I think it works so well when you already have stools and an island for casual meals and a formal dining space. What a great project!

What a lovely kitchen! It is always nice to have a space to lounge while waiting for the food to get done. Have a beautiful start of the week, Kellie xx
