Today, I am doing a guest post on The Sandbucket where I am giving tips on simple ways to add color to your home decor this coming year.

Hi there! My name is Joanna and I’m a writer for Design Shuffle, a terrific online portal which enables interior designers to showcase their work. Today, I bring you eight bright and beautiful interior designs to enjoy.

Whether it is a sensual red that makes us feel passionate or a cheery yellow that makes us happy, bright hues engage us emotionally. When used in our homes, bright hues can have a profound effect on our daily mood. Take a look at these brightly hued rooms and see if they don’t make you feel joyful.



Pink and red with a touch of yellow make this living room feel vibrant and lively. The red and white striped chair is reminiscent of a peppermint candy. Yum.



A cool palette of soft gray is enlivened by the addition of crisp yellow and purple. While this is a palette we don’t often see, it makes us smile nonetheless.



Here is another room with accents of cheery yellow and this room gets a pop of color with the turquoise club chairs.



This room says it all—wow! The owner of this apartment is fearless with their use of color. We seldom see living room designs awash in such brilliant pink.



A touch of animal prints, a hide rug and an antler light fixture give this room an exotic feel while promoting a sense of happiness through the use of bold color.



A white room gets its colorful nature through touches of color on an accent wall and accessories.



This room wows with bright turquoise throughout. The pixilated rug brings a rainbow of colors to the otherwise “blue” room.



Purple dominates this traditional interior design with a mint green accent wall above the mantel. Books bring additional bright color to the room. These bright colors would even look great for any bedroom design.
