DESIGN STYLE: MODERN EQUESTRIAN CHIC
A big fall trend in apparel and home decor is inspired by all things "Equestrian chic". Equestrian influences are timeless and work with a variety of design styles. My favorite version of this trend is to pair equestrian elements with crisp white modern interiors. Here are some of my favorite room images and products with this look....

NATURAL RETREAT part II
I recently completed this Orange County, CA living room via email for my client who lives full time in Brazil. The room, which the client requested to be done in a neutral color palette was inspired by the interior styling of Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt. To create the finished look we layered various textures, focused on architectural elements and blended natural objects with sleek silhouettes. It's always inspiring to work with clients who have a well defined sense of style and are passionate about the design process. To see the Before photos click here.

TRADITIONAL HOME: SNEAK PEEK
A sneak peek into another Design in Progress. As soon as we get the area rugs and window treatments in place I will add more photos! This is a beautiful traditional home that was in need of some color so we added a blue/white/paprika color scheme. The bursts of color have made a big impact on the interior! I custom framed the artwork to coordinate with the feel of the home and to bring out the colors in the fabrics (read here).
family room
-i had this artwork tweaked a little to add more of the colors that are in the fabrics.
-the orange geometric is a favorite print on mine (schumacher greek key in color: ruby) and will be used for draperies. The other two fabrics are for pillows on the sofa.
-added new drapery, sofa pillows and woven wood shades (pictures coming soon)!
stair case
-this is the first wall you see walking into the home. Adding this artwork really set the tone for the rest of the home.
living room
-added two sofas, pillows, orchid arrangement and cocktail table. Waiting for the drapery and area rug.
-also added this custom arrangement in a rustic tray/planter with rocks and various succulents for the kitchen island.
stay tuned....more pictures COMING SOON!

GHETTO FABULOUS
About 4 years ago I started working on a Downtown Loft for a young Attorney that wanted his loft to be modern with bright colors. He wanted a "museum meets the W" vibe. He was really into design and had a lot of ideas, I was really excited to work with him on this project. Unfortunately, the real estate market was on its downward spiral and we had to stop working on this project (we had already ripped out the kitchen). So, I was left with this great design concept and doubt I will ever get to do something like this, it is just so outside the box. So, here it is!! I can at least share it on my blog and feel like I put it out there!!

The overall furniture concept was ultra contemporary (think metal legs/funky shapes, etc) upholstered in white/off white and neutral colors.
I was planning on ripping out the floors and staining the concrete. I wanted to do something like this picture. Grey with a lacquer finish.

It isn't easy to find images that don't get too "swap meet T-shirts of the 80's" style but when I looked around I was amazed at the images I could find.
